Sugaring

When hair is growing in places on your body that you don’t want it, you can come to Maya to have it safely and gently removed by our licensed estheticians with a process known as “sugaring”.  Sugaring is an ancient middle-eastern practice that uses an all natural syrup-like paste made from sugar, water, and lemon juice to remove the hair follicle from the root, in the direction of it’s growth. 

This process promotes health of the skin and discourages regrowth of the hair in the area from which it is removed. Initial results can last up to six weeks.  With regular maintenance, sugaring can permanently reduce the growth of hair.  By regularly removing hair in its natural direction of growth and doing so when the hair is still in the early growth stage, sugaring eliminates breakage, unnecessary discomfort, irritation and ingrown hairs while exfoliating dry skin cells.

The result: smooth, beautiful skin, without the discomforts or possible negative health effects associated with other techniques of hair removal.
