The restrooms at Maya Whole Health Studio are very special. That’s because they’re adorned with original artwork!
Thanks to the talents of graphic artist and client Ken Winters, no other restroom doors compare. Ken offered to design the art in exchange for a special 4-handed massage to celebrate his May birthday (that’s right – 4 hands, 2 therapists and 1 birthday boy).
Sensual health is an important aspect of whole health- which is why we make an effort to create an environment at Maya that exercises, celebrates and challenges all of the senses- including the visual.
“When Ken proposed this whimsical artwork, we were delighted to have an opportunity to add something visually pleasing and playful to the environment at Maya.”
-Shannon Aldrich Payne, general manager
This project is Ken’s first “serious” commissioned work. “I have been doing art off and on all of my life, but got into the tech world to earn a living,” he says. “I am very grateful to Shannon for the opportunity, and hope I can convince her to let me spruce up the treatment room doors as well.”
Happy Birthday, Ken! As for the 4-handed massage, Maya has had many requests for this service, and we plan to add it to our massage menu, perhaps early this summer. Until then, ask for it by special request.
